Fun Ranch Gears Up For Its Biggest Event For The Year – Boo! Time Halloween Party

Celebrate Halloween this year with mind blowing treats as Fun Ranch brings back, Boo! Time Halloween Weekend!

The celebration kicks off with a Halloween Costume Party where kids in costumes strut on the runway, while parents take a snapshot and cheer on the side.  The fun continues after the runway show as kids and their families get to enjoy other activities like games, Trick-Or-Treat and a special kiddie show.

How To Plan A Birthday Party For Your Child

If you are a busy mom, organizing a party can be fun but tiring!  To make sure you give your child the best party, we’ve come up with a timeline and checklist to guide you in your party planning.  This is to help you organize the things you have to do, from the biggest to the most minute details.

Prepare your budget and determine the number of persons you wish to invite.   Make a list of things you need like venue, entertainment, food, décor and loot bags.  Put an estimated amount you may spend on each.

Grand Barnyard

Look for a party venue.  Consider where your guests would be coming from.


Choose a party theme.  Ask your child for ideas if he can already understand party themes.

Book your entertainers and side activities.


Design your invitation (remember to include an RSVP number), choose your party venue, decorations, and souvenir.

Make a down payment.


Order Food and Cake.

Send out party invitations.   The earliest time you can send out your invites is one month before your party while the latest is two weeks before.

 Pay your suppliers in full. 


Finalize program with your host.

Buy your prizes, loot or party décor, if applicable.  Always go for items that are of good quality when shopping for party supplies. 


Update your guest list and adjust your food order if necessary.  Take note of Ingress/Egress times.

Check if all ordered items are in the venue, coordinate the program with your host and have a blast with your guests!  Go around, greet your guests and enjoy your child’s birthday party.

A Magical Sunday

Kadabra Cup is a family dinner show and annual magic competition organized by Fun Ranch.  It is usually held during the National Heroes Day long weekend.   For this year, we decided to have two categories, Senior and Junior Divisions.  The former was held at Ortigas while the latter at our branch in Westgate, Alabang.

Guess what popped out of these cage and box?


And snakes.

This is Gina, the only lady magician in the group.

“Leodini”, Ruther Urquia and Dennis Daco served as technical judges.  Mommy blogger Joy Mendiola and Isidro Laforteza of Zoomanity Group represented the muggles.  For non-Harry Potter fans, muggles are non-magical people like us.:)

Judging was tough.

Kadabra Cup is our favorite event.:)

Guess who received the loudest applause?

Golden Show’s Abraham Velasco .  He was the show’s intermission number yet the kids wanted to vote him “Crowd Favorite”.   We give him a perfect 10 for showmanship.

Kadabra Cup is a perfect bonding event for the entire family.

We raffled off prizes courtesy of our generous sponsors.  Star Cruises gave away a free Singapore Cruise for 4 to one lucky winner.  Havaianas provided free pairs of slippers.  Zoomanity Group, the company behind Zoobic Safari, Pet Me Home at Tiendesitas and a lot more,  gave away free tickets to their zoo and overnight accommodation gift certificates.

Cherifer Immunomax and Memorx made sure everyone went home with free samples of their vitamins and premium item.

The show ended a bit late because we chose not to cut off Golden Show’s performance.    And the winner is…

Jestler the Magician.  And this is his signature split.

It was truly his lucky night because he bagged all the special awards like “oldest magician” and “crowd favorite”.

Beverage partner Pepsi provided our major prizes together with other sponsors like Acacia Hotel and Astoria Plaza Hotel.

Kadabra Cup is a great way to discover new talent.  As early as now, we are already making plans for next year’s show that would include changes our fans will surely love.

Boo-Time! Costume Contest Mechanics

1. Contest participants should register from 2:00-3:00 PM and can only join one category.
2. Categories of the costume contest are: Halloween Costume of the Year, Cutest Character Costume, and Scariest Character Costume. Each contest category will be judged based on the following:



Originality and Creativity. The costume is a new concept; there was something different that sets it apart from the other costumes. Also, the wearer of the costume becomes the character that they are portraying and people could see that. 70%

Over-all Impact . The costume has “wow” factor and it affects the people who see it for the first time. The wearer of the costume is comfortable and confident with his appearance. 20%

Details The costume utilized accessories which improved the over-all look of the costume. 10%



Impact. This is how much the costume can scare the people who see it the first time. 30%

Originality and Creativity. The costume is a new concept which sets it apart from the other costumes. 60%

Details. The costume utilized accessories which improved the look and made the costume scarier. 10%



Over-all Appeal. The costume is a new concept and is set apart from other costumes. 70%

Presentation. The costume wearer becomes the character he/she is planning to portray. 20%

Details. The costume utilized accessories which highlighted the cuteness of the character he/she is portraying. 10%

3. The parade of contest participants will start at 3:10 PM on the day of the event. Judges will deliberate on the winners during the parade.
4. Each category will have one winner. The winner will receive at least Php1,500.00 worth of gift certificates and gift packs from our event sponsors.
5. The decision of the judges is final.. In the event of a tie, the judges may call on the numbers of the contestants for another deliberation of new scores.
6. Children and relatives of Fun Ranch, Big Red Barn, Blue Whale Grill employees; our judges and sponsors up to the second degree of affinity or consanguinity are disqualified to join the contest.
